Mono-End Dihydroxy Polydimethylsiloxane

Mono-end dihydroxy polydimethylsiloxane can be introduced into a polyurethane backbone in block form while the other silicone chain end remains free, allowing rapid migration to the coating surface for hydrophobic/oleophobic, abrasion-resistant, anti-blocking and slip performance.

Product Features

Can react chemically with -NCO, -NH2, -COOH and other groups.

Mainly used in silicone-modified PU, PUD, TPU and modified polyester or acrylic resin systems.

Improves lubricity and abrasion resistance while providing water repellency, anti-blocking, anti-staining and anti-graffiti functions.

Good compatibility with metal, plastic, rubber and other substrates.

Improves scratch resistance, UV stability and heat resistance.

Low surface energy helps create anti-blocking and stain-resistant surfaces and improves fabric hand feel.

Can be used as an alternative to Shin-Etsu X-22-176DX and similar grades.

How to Use

Use as a reactive modifier for silicone-modified polyurethane, PUD, TPU, polyester resin and acrylic resin systems. Molecular weight from 1000 to 100000 and other end-capped structures can be customized; optimum dosage should be determined by formulation testing.

Typical Applications

Heat-resistant coatings, architectural coatings, anticorrosive coatings and protective varnishes
Clear abrasion-resistant automotive coatings
Marine antifouling coating modification
Finishing agents for sportswear, home textiles and apparel fabrics
Protective coatings for electronic housings and precision parts
Tackifiers, silicone stone adhesives and structure-control agents for high-temperature adhesives
Base silicone oil for thermal grease
